Time Together — in days, full moons and heartbeats

The time between two dates, in every unit that makes it sound like a life: 3,652 days, 521.7 weeks, 87,648 hours, 124 full moons, 40 seasons, 10 winters, 3,652 sunrises, about 379 million heartbeats. From the day you met to your tenth anniversary, from the wedding to today, from a birth to the first birthday. For an anniversary, your parents’ fortieth year, a baby’s first year, a retirement. You enter the first date; the last is either a date or today. “Today” is fixed to the day you order, so a reprint years later shows the same numbers. An anniversary still ahead is fine too: the poster prints as it will stand on that day, and says so beneath. You choose which units print; the title, the names and a short note are yours. None of the numbers is typed by hand. Days, weeks and months come from the calendar; hours from the clock of the city you choose, daylight-saving changes included; the full moons and the seasons from the sky, from where the Moon and the Sun actually were. Heartbeats are an estimate and the poster says so: at an assumed 72 a minute. There are three layouts — one huge number of days, the units line by line, or a ring of small moons, one for every full moon — and eleven palettes. Three sizes (30 × 40, 50 × 70, 70 × 100 cm), on matte poster stock, foam board or heavy card. The numbers sit in the same place on every size, in proportion to the sheet; the poster in the preview is exactly the one printed.

The drawing is the designer's; the colour and the logo are yours. What you see above is what we print.
