Thumbprint Guest Tree — your guests are the leaves

A bare tree with your names and your day beneath it. At the wedding, the baby shower, a teacher’s farewell or the last day of nursery, every guest presses an inked thumb beside a twig and writes their name next to it; the guests become the tree’s leaves. After the day it goes into a frame and says for years who was there. You tell us how many guests you expect, and we grow the tree for that number. A thumbprint is about 12 × 16 mm; each guest gets three times that, so a name fits beside it too, and the branches are multiplied until there is a twig tip for every two and a half guests — somewhere to press all over the tree. If the size you chose is not enough for your guests, we tell you before anything is printed: how many that size holds, and which size holds them all. There are three trees: the wide-crowned oak, the tall, upright poplar and the willow with its hanging branches. Each has six different branchings; you flip through them with “Another tree”, the one you choose is saved with your order and exactly that tree is printed. Under the tree go the names on a large line, a line below it and, if you like, the date: 12 JUNE 2027. Matte poster paper takes the ink well and goes into a frame; foam board stands on an easel on the day. 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm portrait, and the same three sizes landscape for a long guest table. Eleven palettes — nine shared with the other Punto posters, two in the light paper of a guest book. Ink pads are not included; if you choose a dark ground, have a white, gold or pastel pad ready.

The drawing is the designer's; the colour and the logo are yours. What you see above is what we print.
